Mediation

Upon order of the Court, any civil action filed with the Court may be referred to mediation.  The Court may issue the order on its own motion, upon the motion of counsel, or upon agreement of the parties. 

Mediation, an alternative to traditional court proceedings, assists parties achieve a less stressful and potentially quicker resolution of their disputes.  Mediation encourages communication and participation between the parties by providing a more informal environment to have discussions that might otherwise be tense or difficult.  The goal of mediation is to allow the parties to discuss their issues and interests and explore ideas to resolve their conflicts, resulting in an agreement as to some or all of the issues before the Court.
