Reentry Court
The Reentry Court Program was established to assist probationers that are released from a local or state institution back into the community.
The focus of the Reentry Court Program is to ensure public safety and to reintegrate offenders back into the community and assist them in becoming productive citizens. The goal of the Wayne County Reentry Court is to reduce recidivism (the rate at which individuals return to prison) by providing transitional support with judicial oversight to felony probationers returning from state and county institutions to Wayne County. Transitional support includes assistance with employment and housing, as well as and connections to programs and services that provide mentoring, anger management, chemical dependency treatment and sex offender treatment.
The Wayne County Common Pleas Court constantly evaluates trends and shifts in adjudicated populations and develops specialized programming to best meet these trends. One methods of responding to these trends is through the development and administration of the following specialized program:
